This Cookie Policy explains how RankRack uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our website, platform and related online services. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal data more generally.
In this policy, "RankRack", "we", "us" and "our" mean RankRack Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17378395 with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. "Platform" means RankRack's websites, applications and online services.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small files placed on your computer, phone, tablet or other device when you use an online service. They allow a website to recognise a device, remember information and support features such as secure sign-in, preferences and fraud prevention.
Some cookies remain only while your browser is open. These are commonly called session cookies. Others remain until their stated expiry date or until you delete them. These are commonly called persistent cookies.
2. Similar Technologies
Alongside cookies, the Platform uses your browser's local storage and session storage to remember choices you make on this device, such as your theme setting and unfinished review drafts. This policy refers to cookies and these storage technologies together as "cookies" unless the context requires otherwise.
We do not use tracking pixels, web beacons, software development kits or device fingerprinting anywhere on the Platform.
3. Who Sets Cookies
Every cookie our own code sets is a first-party cookie, set by RankRack and read only by the Platform.
Two other organisations can set cookies in connection with the Platform:
- Cloudflare sits in front of the Platform as our content delivery network and may set its own infrastructure cookies on our domain, such as bot-management cookies. These are security cookies controlled by Cloudflare.
- Stripe handles provider membership payments on Stripe's own hosted pages. Stripe sets its own cookies on those pages under its own policies. No Stripe code runs on our pages and no card details reach RankRack.
We use no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies from any third party.
4. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies and browser storage to:
- Keep you signed in to your account.
- Keep staff accounts signed in to the separate staff area.
- Remember which side of the client portal you use and, if you manage more than one company page, which page the portal shows.
- Remember your theme choice, your answer to the consent notice and drafts of reviews you have not submitted yet.
- Protect the Platform against fraud, abuse and automated traffic.
We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking or profiling, and we will not use a cookie for a materially different purpose without updating this policy and, where required, asking for a new choice.
5. Strictly Necessary Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies support functions required to provide a service you request. On RankRack this covers signing in, keeping your session secure and recording your consent choice. These operate without consent, as UK law permits. Blocking them in your browser will stop sign-in and other account features from working.
6. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies and storage entries remember choices you have made so the Platform behaves the way you left it. On RankRack these are the portal preferences and the browser-storage entries listed in the inventory below. Each one stores a choice you made on this device. None of them is used to track you, and each is checked server-side before it changes anything that matters.
7. Analytics and Performance Cookies
We do not set any analytics or performance cookies, and no third-party analytics service runs on the Platform.
The Platform counts page views and outbound clicks on provider pages server-side, with nothing stored on your device. Repeat visits within a day are told apart using a coded form of your network address that cannot be reversed and is destroyed within 26 hours; after that nobody, including us, can connect a count to an address. What remains are daily totals per provider page, and a provider's own team is excluded from its page's counts.
8. Marketing Cookies
We do not set marketing or advertising cookies, and there is no advertising on the Platform. If that ever changes, such cookies will stay off until we have updated this policy and obtained the consent required by law.
Paid provider membership does not affect review scores, rankings or moderation decisions.
9. Embedded Content and Integrations
Links from the Platform to other services, such as a provider's own website, our Discord server or Stripe's payment pages, take you to services that follow their own cookie policies.
A provider may connect its own Discord server to receive its new reviews, and may use our data feeds to show its public rating and review information on its own website. The feeds return data only and set no cookies on the provider's visitors.
10. Our Legal Framework
RankRack is established in the United Kingdom and handles cookies in accordance with applicable law, including:
- The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, as amended (PECR);
- The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR);
- The Data Protection Act 2018; and
- The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) regulates UK data protection and electronic-communications privacy requirements.
Where cookies involve personal data, our Privacy Policy explains the relevant purposes, lawful bases, recipients, retention arrangements, international transfers and individual rights.
11. Consent and Your Choices
Everything RankRack currently stores on your device is either strictly necessary or a preference you set yourself, so there are no optional cookie categories to accept or refuse today. The notice you see on your first visit explains this and records your answer; the record of that answer is itself stored on your device.
You can reopen the notice at any time using Consent settings in the footer. If we ever introduce cookies that require consent, they will stay off until you make an affirmative choice, refusing them will not block the main service, and withdrawing consent will be as easy as giving it.
12. Browser and Device Controls
Most browsers let you view, delete, allow or block cookies and clear site data, including local storage. Controls differ by browser and device, and you may need to set them separately on each device you use.
Blocking all cookies for rank-rack.com will stop sign-in from working. Clearing site data removes your theme choice, your consent answer and any unsubmitted review drafts.
13. Cookie Inventory

We review this inventory whenever Platform features change.
14. How Long Cookies Last
Durations are listed in the inventory above and are kept proportionate to the purpose of each entry. Session cookies expire when your session ends; persistent cookies expire on the stated schedule unless you delete them sooner. The record of your consent answer is kept so we can honour it.
15. International Visitors and Transfers
RankRack may be accessed from outside the United Kingdom. Where a mandatory local rule gives you additional cookie or privacy rights, we will provide the information and controls it requires. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is protected when transferred internationally.
16. Children
RankRack accounts and review services are intended for people aged 18 or over. We do not use cookies to profile anyone for advertising, children included.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when the Platform, our suppliers, our cookies or our legal obligations change. The updated version will be published with a revised "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects what is stored on your device, the consent notice will come back so you can make a fresh choice.
